Make the Move Cycle Loan Scheme
Over the last few years Chester residents have had the benefit
of being able to loan a bicycle for up to six months,
free of charge.
The successful bike loan scheme which comes to an end in March 2011
has proved very popular. The scheme launched in 2009, was
aimed at people that would benefit from cycling to and from their
place of work or study. Users could also use the bicycle for
recreation, exercise, shopping, and friends.
Free bikes were provided for six months to residents on the
condition that the person used it regularly and kept a cycle
diary.
Over 20,00 miles have been covered by residents on the 140 loan bikes since the scheme started.

The charity LIVE based at the New Scene Youth Centre, Newton Lane have a number of hand bikes for hire, LIVE's aim is to enable young people of all abilities to become active and valued citizens.
