Free Cycle Loans!
Chester residents can loan a bicycle for up to six months, free of charge. The bicycle may be used for recreation, exercise, getting to work, shopping, friends. If you haven't cycled for a long time, this is a great way to start again.

You must be resident in Chester area, including Saughall, Blacon, Lache, Guilden Sutton and Mickle Trafford and prove identity by means of a photo e.g. photocard licence or passport.
There is a minimum age of 16 and applicants must pass a basic cycle assessment.
The client may also have been recommended by a GP or other health professional to use a bike for health reasons or other reason connected to fitness.
Cheshire West & Chester Area Residents
For residents of the new Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council area, including Ellesmere Port, Neston, Winsford and Northwich, a bicycle can be loaned free of charge to enable them to get to a new job or training placement.
Applicants must show a need to use the bike to access work or training, where there is some difficulty with the normal journey to work/training, e.g. shift work or awkward starting/finishing.
A minimum age of 16 applies.
Applicants also need a recent household bill to show where they live and a form of photo identification, e.g. passport or driving licence.

Hand Bike hire at the New Scene Youth Centre
The charity LIVE based at the New Scene Youth Centre, Newton Lane have a number of hand bikes for hire, LIVE's aim is to enable young people of all abilities to become active and valued citizens.
